As a summer program for over 50 years, Weston Drama Workshop offers performers and audiences an array of options to enjoy and experience live theater. While originally a program limited to high school and college students, WDW also offers a musical theater program for elementary school students (known as “WDW – Kids”), middle school students (known as the “morning program”) and theater program for young audiences.
The night shows engage high school and college students in the challenge of presenting main stage musicals and a black box theater production. WDW is a summer tradition that begins with rehearsals in mid-June and challenges the participant community to deliver high-quality choral arrangements, dance choreography, and solo performance.
With a program geared for elementary school, middle school, high school and college-age performers, WDW offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn from one another and take their craft to new levels under the guidance of WDW’s talented staff. Over the season, WDW inspires over 200 participants, volunteers, board members and theater staff members to offer over 20 fully staged productions over a 10-day period at the end of July.
