About Göta Lejon Produktion

Göta Lejon was inaugurated as SF cinema on January 25, 1928 with 1,307 seats including 541 at the stand. It was then Stockholm's second largest cinema, and from 1940 Stockholm's largest. Göta Lejon was a grand building with American models and had many big names on its list of creators. One of these was the creator of the Lion at the top of the entrance, Einar Forseth, who is perhaps best known for his Byzantine- inspired gold mosaics in the Golden Hall of Stockholm City Hall . He was also responsible for the decorations in Göta Lejon's salon.

During the 1960s, the venue was redone so that film screenings could be alternated with theatrical performances by, among others, Ernst Rolf and Hasse & Tage.

In the late 1970s and 1980s, film screenings and performances were replaced by concerts. AC / DC, Metallica, REM and The Runaways played their first concerts in Sweden at Göta Lejon.

Since the beginning of the 1990s when Göta Lejon was rebuilt once again, the focus was changed to playing musicals and theater plays, but since 2010 has also delivered a variety of shows, concerts and stand-up performances and will continue to deliver that kind of entertainment and feel only one. the right scene can give.
