Biography
Silvio Stampiglia
Born in Civita Lavinia in 1664, Silvio Stampiglia was a poet and opera librettist. Many of his librettos were written for Giovanni Bononcini, although some were later adapted by composers such as G.F. Handel. This includes his libretto 'Xerse' which Handel adapted into his opera Serse.
