Biography
Richard Oberacker
Richard Oberacker is a composer, lyricist and conductor. His conducting credits include Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion and Kà (Las Vegas), national tours of The Lion King, Show Boat, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Music of the Night and Cats.
He has co-created several original musicals, including A Little Theater (Aurelia Theater), Dracula (Corbett Theater), In That Valley (NAMT), and The Sandman (NAMT, Fredericia Theater of Denmark). Most recently, Richard Oberacker composed the score for the new musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby (2017), and co-wrote the book and music for the Tony nominated musical, Bandstand. He was also nominated for the 2017 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Book of a Musical for Bandstand.
