Mindi Dickstein is an American lyricist and librettist best known for her work on the Broadway musical Little Women with Jason Howland in 2005. In 1993, she graduated from New York University with a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theater Writing as an Oscar Hemmerstein Fellow. She has been teaching at New York’s Tisch School of the Arts since 1996 and is the recipient of the Playwriting Fellowships from the Massachusetts Artists Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts. Other mentionable credits include the musical Witnesses written with composer Carmel Bean, and Benny & Joon with music by Nolan Gasser. Benny & Joon premiered in 2017 at The Old Globe in San Diego, California, before playing at the Paper Mill Playhouse in 2019. Dickstein also wrote the book for Toy Story: The Musical, which played on Disney Cruise Line ships from 2008 to 2016.
