Biography
Gordon Greenberg
Gordon Greenberg is an American director and writer. He has directed production on Broadway and the West End, written for stage and screen, and directed new works across America.
One of Greenberg’s most notable works was his direction of the acclaimed West End revival of Guys and Dolls, which was nominated for six Olivier Awards. Greenberg co-wrote and directed the Broadway adaptation of* Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn. In 2011, Greenberg collaborated with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Stephen Schwartds on revising Working and directed the revival production, receiving a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival. Other works include adapting and directing the revival of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well…*; co-writing and directing Band Geeks; collaborating with Stephen Schwartz and Joseph Stein on to revise The Baker’s Wife at the Papermill Playhouse; and directing the North American premiere of Piaf/Deitrich. In addition to his writing and directing pursuits, Greenberg worked as an actor. He appeared in the Broadway productions of How to Succeed in Business…, The Little Prince and the Aviator, and Grease. Greenberg served as the Artistic Director of Musical Theatre Works in New York City from 1997-2000 and currently works as the Artistic Director of the Broadway Teachers Workshop.
