François-Georges Fouques Deshayes, known as 'Desfontaines', was a French playwright, novelist, and librettist. Whilst working as a librarian and a royal censor, he wrote a vast number of works for stage. He also collaborated with Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-George in adapting Stéphanie Félicité de Genlis’s play Madame de Genlis for his opera L'Amant Anonyme.
