Sarah Jones

Sarah Jones is an American playwright, performer, and activist, born on November 29, 1974, in Baltimore, Maryland. Known for her one-woman shows that feature a dazzling array of characters, Jones uses theatre as a tool for social change, tackling issues like race, gender, immigration, and inequality with humor, empathy, and intelligence.

Her breakthrough work, Bridge & Tunnel (2004), won a Special Tony Award for its Off-Broadway run before transferring to Broadway in 2006. In the show, Jones portrays over a dozen characters of diverse backgrounds, giving voice to immigrants living in New York.
