Biography
The Bee Gees
The Bee Gees were an English-Australian band that embodied the disco era of the late 1970s. Their band name was short for the Brothers Gibb. The principal members were Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, and Maurice Gibb. After emigrating to Australia with their parents, the brothers returned to England in the mid-1960s to pursue their singing careers. After several hit-and-miss years, their chart-topping single “Jive Talkin’" put the Bee Gees at the forefront of the disco movement. Their work was then featured on the sound track album to the hit film, Saturday Night Fever (1977), which was adapted for the stage in 1998.
