Biography
Anne Croswell
Anne Croswell (1929-2011) was an American lyricist whose work mostly resided in the retelling of plays and musicals. She co-wrote the lyrics for Ernest in Love in 1960, a retelling of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. She also wrote the lyrics for Tovarich, based on a play of the same name by Jacques Deval and Robert E. Sherwood which was produced on Broadway in 1963 starring Vivien Leigh who earned the Tony Award for best leading actress in a musical.
