Biography
Keythe Farley
Keythe Farley is a multifaceted American actor, writer, director, and voice/director casting professional whose work spans stage, television, animation, and video games. Born in 1963, he moved to Los Angeles from Sacramento in the mid-1980s to attend UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film and Television, and he became deeply involved in the Los Angeles theatre community. He has long been a member of The Actors’ Gang theatre company and has lent his skills to theatrical ensembles such as the Evidence Room, Fake Radio, and the Revenge of the Voice Actors troupe.
Early in his career, Farley appeared in television productions including Full House, Beverly Hills 90210, and the HBO film …And the Band Played On. As his interests expanded, he moved behind the scenes into animation and voice work: he worked with Klasky/Csupo, contributing to popular series such as Rugrats, Duckman, As Told By Ginger, and The Wild Thornberries. He also produced interstitial segments for MAD TV and later served as a voice director on several animated and gaming projects.
During this period, Farley collaborated with Brian Flemming and composer/lyricist Laurence O’Keefe to develop Bat Boy: The Musical. The musical premiered in Los Angeles on Halloween 1997 and later transferred off-Broadway in 2001, receiving acclaim and awards including the Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics’ Circle honors. Bat Boy has since been widely produced across the U.S. and internationally, and has been translated into multiple languages. Farley’s role in shaping its book (with Flemming) is central to its darkly comic, socially aware tone.
In parallel with his theater work, Farley continued to build a strong presence in the voice acting, casting, and directing world. He has cast and directed voice performances for major video game franchises, including God of War, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Skylanders, Final Fantasy XV, Fallout 4, and many others. He has also voiced characters himself—most notably Thane Krios in the Mass Effect franchise—and appeared in theatrical productions such as Around the World in Eighty Days and performed in international tours of 1984.
Throughout his varied career, Keythe Farley has demonstrated a deep commitment to storytelling across media. Whether working onstage, behind the mic, or in the casting booth, he brings a combination of theatrical sensibility, technical knowledge, and narrative clarity. His contributions to Bat Boy remain a touchstone in musical theatre, and his ongoing work in voice direction and performance continues to influence artists in animation, gaming, and theatre alike.
