Shane McAnally is an American country music singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in Mineral wells, Taxas, McAnally began performing at the age of 12 and appeared on the TV show Star Search at 14. By 15, he had moved to Branson, Missouri and then Nashville at 19 to pursue his music career. McAnally earned a record contract with Curb Records in 1999 and released his first single the same year. McAnally moved away from performing his own music and turned his focus to songwriting, composing music for films and writing for other artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Walker Hayes, Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire, and Kenny Chesney.
McAnally has won four Grammy Awards and multiple Country Music Awards. He is a frequent collaborator of Brandy Clark, and together they wrote the music and lyrics for Shucked, which received a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score in 2023. He has also been recognized as one of Billboard’s 2020 Country Power Players and the recipient of the 2020 Billboard Trailblazer Award.
