Shaina Taub is an American singer, songwriter, composer, and performer known for her vibrant fusion of folk-pop music and contemporary musical theatre. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Taub has become one of the most distinctive voices in modern American theatre, celebrated for her rich lyricism, dynamic vocals, and socially conscious storytelling. Her acclaimed original works—including musical adaptations of As You Like It and Twelfth Night for New York’s Public Theater—have earned widespread recognition for their inclusivity, inventive staging, and community-engaged ensemble approach.

Beyond her theatrical compositions, Taub is an accomplished recording artist whose albums showcase her poetic songwriting and genre-blending sound. She has been a Drama Desk Award nominee, a Fred Ebb Award winner, and a member of the Joe’s Pub Working Group. In recent years, Taub has gained even broader visibility as the composer and lyricist of the Broadway musical Suffs, a dramatization of the American women’s suffrage movement. With this show, Taub won Tony Awards in 2024 for Best Book and Best Score. Whether performing onstage or composing for large-scale productions, Taub continues to shape the landscape of contemporary musical theatre with her bold voice, collaborative spirit, and commitment to telling stories that resonate across generations.
