Analysis
Kala is a gorilla and the mate of Kerchak. She is devastated when a predatory leopard takes their baby and grieves for him. When she discovers a baby hidden in a trunk, she quickly decides to raise it as her own and names the baby Tarzan. Kala is gentle, kind, and caring.
