Terminology
- Book: The script of a musical.
- Libretto: The script of the musical, separate from the musical orchestrations.
- Lyrics: The words of the songs in a musical.
- Score : The notation of music for the musical. There are several types of scores (detailed in the guide).
Context & Analysis
In musical theatre, music, drama, and dance come together to create a spectacle. This means that there are many different parts of a musical that are created in order to communicate all of the information of the show to the performers and musicians. This module will review the components of a musical and how they work together to create a musical.
