Estela is going on her first date with the man from next door, whom she calls El Tormento. Estela asks Ana why she is always writing, and Ana tells her that she wants to be “rich and famous” someday. Estela doesn’t understand Ana’s lofty dreams, but when Ana tells Estela that she’s proud of what Estela has accomplished, Ana is allowed to stay.
