Context
Vladimir and Estragon are waiting by a barren tree, along an empty road, in a desolate landscape. They know that they are waiting for someone named Godot, and that they have been waiting for many days, but they’re not sure why or for how long. To pass the time, they talk about all manner of things, but are desperate to make a change to their lives. Estragon suggests that they hang themselves, but that idea is dismissed, and now they are trying to figure out how to wait next.
