Context
The dysfunctional Turpin family is preparing to bury their patriarch, Bud. This scene takes place at the funeral home, where Bud’s widow Raynelle, deeply religious sister, Marguerite, sons Ray-Bud and Junior, along with Junior’s resentful wife Suzanne and Ray-Bud’s even-mannered wife Lucille, are making last-minute touches before the funeral.
