Context
After spending the night together, Owen and Loretta come out to the kitchen for some coffee. They are both young, carefree, and spirited. Though most of their time together the previous night happens off-stage, Owen has clearly fallen for Loretta, even though he is to be married in three week’s time. In this scene, he tells her how he feels, and a disagreement ensues. Owen is ready to leave his fiancé, but Loretta has only known him one day and has big dreams of becoming an actress.
