Context
Gregor and Greta Samsa have a respectful and protective sibling relationship. Gregor is dedicated to taking care of his family, and hopes to send Greta to study violin at a conservatory. Greta always puts out milk for Gregor, just because she knows he likes it. In this brief scene, they introduce each other, speaking in compassionate and caring terms.

Start:
[Lights snap up on Gregor standing behind Greta--scenes of pre-insect life. Each speak their own thoughts which run contrapuntally.]
Gregor: [indicates] I’m Gregor Samsa--there’s my sister Greta.
Greta: [motionless] There’s brother Gregor.

End:
Gregor: The warehouse was better--one didn’t have to worry about travelling.
Greta: It was very good.
Gregor: I feel sick.
