Synopsis

Eight-year-old Lily Polkadot has just moved to the “Squares Only” town of Rockaway and is nervous to start her first day of school. Lily is the first Polkadot to attend this Square school and she faces bullying and harassment from her peers. From mean girl Penelope’s constant bullying to segregated drinking fountains, Lily begins to feel like she’ll never find a friend in Rockaway. But when Lily meets Sky, a shy Square boy, an unexpected friendship begins. Inspired by the events of The Little Rock 9, Polkadots: the Cool Kids Musicals is a great TYA show to teach kids a history lesson in a colorful way and show them that our differences are what make us all cool kids.
