Plot

Act One

As the show opens Dee Dee and Barry are reveling in the opening night attention of Eleanor! - The Eleanor Roosevelt Musical. Sheldon, their publicist, ushers them through the press and the actors discuss the incredible characters they create who inspire and change lives (“Our Hands Are Tied“) However, although the initial review was positive, more reviews start to come in and they are not so kind. Critics are savaging the production and slamming the performances of Dee Dee and Barry. Sheldon informs them that the production faces immediate closure due to their selfish and narcissistic ways. Dee Dee and Barry are comforted by fellow actors Trent, who never misses an opportunity to mention his training at Juilliard (yet waits tables in between jobs), and Angie, who’s just quit the chorus in Chicago after failing to get the lead for over twenty years.. Barry decides that they need to change the media’s perception of them all by becoming celebrity activists. The group tries to
