Plot

A dark and stormy night looms over a mysterious Gothic-style mansion. Three figures creep into a dark room: the butler, Wadsworth; the maid, Yvette; and the Cook. Yvette switches on the light switch and all three, startled upon seeing the others, scream in fright. Recollecting himself, Wadsworth asks the two women if everything is ready for the night, which they affirm. Cook asks if he wants her to feed the dogs, but he explains that he wants them to be hungry. The two women depart. Wadsworth, breaking the fourth wall, welcomes the audience to what will surely be an eventful evening to come.

Perfectly on cue, the guests arrive. First at the door is a stuffy and disgruntled military man. Wadsworth greets him as “Colonel Mustard,” explaining that all guests will be going by a pseudonym for the evening. Wadsworth hands the Colonel off to the flirtatious Yvette as he answers the next ring of the doorbell. It is Mrs. White, dressed in clothes of mourning, face partially obscured by a black
