START: GERARDO: Patria o Muerte.
LUIS mumbles
GERARDO: Luis, everyone I knew is gone.Everyone but you.
LUIS: Hmmm. Yes, Gerardo … Most of the ones close to me are gone too …
GERARDO: You may be leaving too.
LUIS: I don’t know, Gerardo. For some, it’s harder to leave. Francisquita left. All my brothers and sisters left. Cousins, uncles, nephews.

END: GERARDO: … I saw them grow. I knew their parents, grandparents, and their problems. And I went to their birthday parties. And if I leave, I would be among strangers all the time. And even if they are nice to me, I would not know who they are.
