Overview
Synopsis
The Great British Bake Off Musical is a wholesome, feel-good production based on the popular British TV show of the same name. The story takes place over one season in the tent and follows eight contestants, two hosts, and two judges as they battle their way through the ups and downs of filmed competition. Throughout the show, we meet two very familiar judges, Pam Lee and Phil Hollinghurst, as well as a brigade of the stereotypical, but very thought-out competitors we have come to expect in the tent every season. The musical is an ensemble piece and follows the contestant’s, host’s, and judge’s journies through original songs and a charming book. A perfect blend of new and nostalgic, The Great British Bake Off Musical is sure to warm the hearts of audience members, whether they love to bake or not!

Key Terms
An adaptation is a reworking of a story from one medium or cultural context into another, such as turning a novel into a play or updating a classic play’s setting. Adaptations often reinterpret themes, characters, and style for new audiences. They can range from faithful recreations to bold reimaginings.
Parody is a comedic imitation of a style, genre, or work that exaggerates its features for humorous or satirical effect. In theatre, it playfully mocks conventions, characters, or cultural icons while still relying on audience recognition of the original. Parody can both celebrate and critique its subject, often blurring the line between homage and ridicule.
