The Wizard of Oz, L. Frank Baum’s classic 1900 children’s novel, has received many iterations on stage. After the 1939 hit movie of the same name, many adaptations were penned for the stage. This Young Performers Edition is a shortened 60-minute version, based almost entirely off the movie, made to bring the beloved story to a level that children can perform. The big differences between this stage version for young performers and the original beloved movie classic is the addition of two songs that were written for and cut from the original film and returned to the RSC full-length stage
