The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is adapted from the first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. The Lightning Thief initially played Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre as a one-act musical in 2014. It then went on a national tour, before being re-imagined and updated as a full-length musical with an expanded score and script. The new version of the musical opened once again at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on April 4, 2017 and played for a month. It was nominated for three Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Musical.
