Synopsis

The Real Machiavelli is a feminist fable about the power of love, and the love of power. The most notorious book on politics, The Prince, was written by Niccolo Machiavelli, a civil servant in Florence during the Renaissance. But the origins of this book, which contradicts other writings of Machiavelli, have always been debated. This play is a historical fiction about power, control, men, and women, and whether it is truly better to be feared than loved.
