A talking chicken, a devout chicken farmer, a bully with a secret, and a woman in a leotard populate the world of MilkMilkLemonade. The play is a campy, sardonic exploration of death, sexuality, and gender through the eyes of Emory, a sensitive fifth-grader. Emory lives with his devoutly religious grandmother, Nanna, on a chicken farm, where his best friend is a chicken named Linda. Unfortunately, it’s processing day on the farm, which means Linda is about to be turned into food unless Emory can stop Nanna. Narrated by a nervous Lady In A Leotard, MilkMilkLemonade is a bold and brash ensemble comedy with minimal technical requirements and roles for actors with strong comedic instincts. The characters can all be played by an actor of any race or gender identity.
